Huge congratulations to Allie Bailey who completed the non-stop 160-mile race in a time of 53 hours, 11 minutes and 7 seconds.

Following the iconic Pennine Way from Hardraw, in North Yorkshire, to Kirk Yetholm, in the Scottish Borders, the race crosses some of the UK's most beautiful and arduous terrain – passing through the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Northumberland, Hadrian's Walls and the Cheviots.

Posting on Instagram after the race, Allie said: 'In the last few days I’ve had people tell me I am no longer allowed to see myself as 'bang average'. With respect, I am entitled to see myself exactly as I want. The point is I work harder than most average people do to excel in certain areas - my fitness, my mental health, my recovery. I’d like people to see that and do the same instead of thinking they need to be naturally gifted or that blind belief alone will work. I want to be an example of what is possible. I want to continue enjoying the sport and not become obsessed with constantly getting 'better'. I’m not interested in expectations. I want to make mistakes, learn and have adventures. I want this feeling of contentment to last.'

Allie is the author of There is No Wall, an honest and disarming account of her struggles with mental health and alcoholism.

Vertebrate's Managing Director, Jon, also took on the challenge, finishing in an impressive time of 70 hours, 42 minutes and 23 seconds – well before the 90-hour cut-off point.

Well done to everyone who took part.
